Weekend Recap

Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their first weekend of November. This weekend was all about Will and I. We put away our cell phones, steered away from social media and checking our emails and enjoyed quality time together as we celebrated 3.5 years of dating! I know that some couples only like to celebrate the number of years they have been dating, but Will and I like to celebrate more then just that. For us, we find it worthwhile and important to showcase our love for one another and to celebrate "us" more then once a year...and what girl would complain if their boyfriend recommended that?!

Friday night we did absolutely nothing and it was perfect. We made zero plans, stayed in and were complete couch potatoes. Sometimes lounging around in your pajama's with a glass of wine and your best friend beside you is just what your heart needs :)

Saturday morning, Will and I got up and drove to Mount Pleasant, NC to meet up with Lindsay Wynne at Cline's Country Antiques. Lindsay is a photographer who lives in Charlotte and is working on getting a portfolio ready to submit to magazines and possibly to places like Local Palate, Edible Charlotte, QC Exclusive and more. Lindsay is such a blast to work with and a wonderful person who has a hilarious sense of humor. I can't wait to see the photos that she took from this weekend and be sure to check her out as well! Below are just a few photos that Will took during our time at Cline's.
Y'all, let me just tell you real quick about Cline's Country Antiques. This place is NO JOKE. Have you ever seen that TV show called American Pickers on the History channel? Well, that's pretty much the best way I can think of how to describe this place to you. The individual behind Cline's is Don Cline himself. Don lives on the property that has been in his family for over 200 years. Here you will find over a handful of barns that are filled with "junk". When you come for a visit, be prepared to get your hands dirty because you have acres of stuff to go through. Cline's is one of the largest dealers of antique and collectible furniture in North Carolina and is worth a visit at least once!

After an hour or so at Cline's, Will and I drove back to Charlotte and went by Bath and Body Works so I could pick up some more candles for our condo (I am addicted to the fall and winter candle collections). After a successful trip to B&BW we went and got a quick bite to eat and then headed to Will's friend Davis's house to watch the second half of the State/Carolina game.

State lost the game so Will and I headed back to the condo to relax for a few hours before going to dinner at Fiamma located in Dilworth. Oh my word...this place was SO GOOD. Fiamma was voted by Zagat's as one of the Top 10 Restaurants in Charlotte and I can see why. The staff were on point from start to finish. The atmosphere was charming and quaint. All of the food is homemade and prepared with only the freshest ingredients. And the wine list...simply amazing. If you are in the Charlotte area and looking for an amazing dining experience with high quality Italian food, this place is for you. Let me know what you think if you check it out!
After an amazing meal together, we headed back home and watched Now You See Me which was a pretty good movie. I'd give it an 8 out of 10 for sure. Sunday morning rolled around and we decided to sleep in, get breakfast at my favorite bagel shop in Charlotte, Einstein Bros Bagels and do some grocery shopping at Trader Joe's.
Later that afternoon, Will had to go into work for a few hours so I decided to make Gingerbread Cake and clean around the condo. I also used that time I had alone to reflect on Will and I's relationship, the weekend and all I had that I was thankful for. When you are always on-the-go, it's hard to take the time to actually think back on all that you have going RIGHT in your life. I praised God for the amazing weather we had over the weekend, the quality time that Will and I got to have with each other, and the fact that we were able to celebrate 3.5 years together. God is so good and he loves us each so much individually. I hope that throughout my lifetime I am able to showcase God's love for us through my actions and lifestyle.

  8. What a great way to spend time together. Now a days we are into our electronics, social media sites and everything else that it is hard to really spend time with the person. I think more people need to disconnect. My husband and I just had a discussion about it last night while we were watching tv and playing on our tablets.

Please take a moment to check out my blog.
