5 on Friday

We have made it through another week, y'all! I know I say this just about every Friday but I really do cherish and look forward to the weekends because I truly value a good work/life balance, and the weekends provide me with just the right amount of rest and relaxation that I need! AND who doesn't look forward to participating in the ever so popular and fun link-up at the end of the week; Five on Friday?!

ONE
Earlier this week I had the opportunity to go to The Charlotte Social's November meet-up hosted by Bre from Baubles and Bubbly and was excited that it took place at Nordstrom! We were greeted with champagne and racks of holiday outfits to peek through and even try on. The night went smoothly and I was very surprised with how many gals showed up! I had such a blast chatting away with the other bloggers and of course, taking photos!

For those of you who live in the Charlotte and surrounding area and are a blogger, I highly suggest you think about getting involved with The Charlotte Social! I have been able to meet a bunch of wonderful girls who all have similar interests and really, what's better then making new friends, finding new blogs and getting to go to fun meet-ups and social events?! It's a win-win and so worth it!

TWO
Emily Ley's 2014 Simplified Planner! Y'all, I have been on the hunt for a new planner for what seems like forever. I have gone through so many different brands over the years and have never found "the one" until now! I do have expectations when it comes to planners because I am detail oriented and like to have things a certain way, all while still having the ability to be creative and add my own personal touches. That's exactly what the Simplified Planner provides! This little gem is spiral bound, has a pocket on the inside front cover to hold notes and loose papers, is durable (exactly what I need it to be) and simplified so that it's easier for you to use and as Emily states best "make what matters happen"! I can not wait for mine to arrive in the mail soon so I can show it to you all :)
THREE
25. That's how old I will be in 11 days with Thanksgiving only 2 days after! I can't wait to spend both holidays with Will and my family celebrating! It's blows my mind at how quick time flies by and to be able to look back over the years and see how much I have changed and grown as an individual. I feel confident that i'm going in the right direction that God wants me to be going and am so grateful and excited to see what he has planned for my 25th year of life!

*Gulp* This is hard for me...but after two years with Birchbox, I cancelled my subscription. NOT because I didn't love my monthly surprises coming in the mail. NOT because BB had bad customer service (in fact it was actually great). I did it because I need to do a better job at saving my money. I am not saying that I am bad off financially, but I have been paying more attention at where my money has been going and have realized I needed to re-evaluate this area of my life. Remember 'No Spend November'? Yeah...that didn't happen. I need to stop relying so much on my happiness coming from material things. And I AM PROUD OF MYSELF. To me, this was a big step. To take away something you enjoy and don't want to get rid of is hard. It takes motivation, determination and a positive mindset.

FIVE
I have ZERO weekend plans. That's right. Zero! Zip! None! Nada! This is the first weekend in who knows how long that I didn't know what I was going to do over the weekend. For a girl who loves to have plans in place, this feels really good. I can't wait to literally savor each minute and hour that passes by as it is. If something comes up, great! But if not, that's fine by me :)

  2. Thank you for sharing the planner. I too have high expectation for planners considering it holds my whole life in it and it HAS to be cute. Has to! And I am right there with ya sista on #4. I have realized lately that I've been a little too shopper happy and I need to tone it down. I'm proud of you!

  7. I love how you Charlotte bloggers do meet-ups! I wish us in Charleston would do the same! I decided to do no shopping till the end of the year and it is so hard. I love how you said you're trying to find happiness beyond material things because that was exactly my problem. Shopping gives me instant gratification but then I'm over what I bought as soon as I come home. Not buying anything these past few months has made me shop within my closet and actually wear the stuff I bought months ago that were just sitting in my closet. Happy weekend to you!
