Weekend Shenanigans

Weekends come and go but boy did I have a great weekend with my sweet friend, Alyssa!
Alyssa came to Charlotte on Thursday night and we decided to take it easy the first night by going to dinner at Panera Bread and then going back to the condo for a girls night with a few glasses of wine and a whole lot of Brain Games! Friday we both woke up bright and early to get ready for the day. I had to go to work but Alyssa had a handful of interviews to go to! I am so proud of all of her hard work and dedication lately to finding a teaching job in the next few months and I am crossing all of my fingers and toes for her that she gets the perfect position!
Friday went by super quick, and I was able to get off early from work, which I was so happy about. I told Alyssa to meet me at On A String Bead Shop so we could make some bracelets! I am obsessed with this place and think I got Alyssa hooked! After our bracelet making, we decided to celebrate Alyssa's successful interviews by having a night out on the town, and we did just that.
A and I went to the condo to change, snap a photo and then headed to dinner at VBGB at the Music Factory. I was hoping it would have been warmer outside so that we could sit on the patio but that didn't really go as planned which was okay because we sat at the bar instead and enjoyed a great meal with drinks and more girl talk! After an hour or so of chatting, we decided it was time to head to Brazwell's.
This was probably my favorite part of the night! We laughed non-stop and met some really interesting people that provided just the right amount of entertainment that we needed. I couldn't have asked for a better night with my "sister" and before we knew it, it was late and time for us to go home. Saturday morning we woke up and went to brunch with Will and Ariel at Toast before Alyssa had to head back to Raleigh.
After saying bye to my sweet friend, I napped. That's one thing that Will and I are famous for doing on the weekends. I can't remember a weekend when we haven't...and I am not complaining one bit. So that's how the rest of my weekend was spent. Napping and relaxing at the condo with Will and Miller by our side. We did run a few errands Saturday afternoon but that was really about all we did! I was exhausted from Friday night and had no desire to be anywhere else then on the couch at home :)
Sunday morning Will and I went to brunch at 300 East and left with full bellies. Neither of us had been to 300 East and it really was what everyone had said it was; a place with an awesome atmosphere and superb food. I had the banana and walnut stuffed french toast with a side of bacon and ice cream...and no I don't feel guilty one bit for having ice cream at brunch!
All in all, I had one heck of a weekend. Friendships are so important to have and maintain. They are good for the soul. They are essential. And I am so beyond thankful for meeting Alyssa through blogging. She is one of my dearest friends now and someone I will be friends with forever. I hope you all had a great weekend filled with rest and relaxation and can't wait to see what everyone did these past few days <3

  17. Nice way to go about your weekend, Melissa! It's just so fulfilling to reward one's self after a week of hard work. I noticed that you live in a condominium, how is it? Is the management doing maintenance rounds regularly? Thanks for sharing!
