She Believed She Could, So She Did

I am in LOVE with this look. From the flowy feel of the maxi dress, to the comfort my heels provided (yes...I said comfort), all the way down to the floppy hat that brought the whole look together and protected my face from the hot sun; I just can't stop smiling. Part of the reason is because Andi is a very talented photographer. But the other half of the reason stems from the fact that this look is ME. I feel comfortable and at ease. No negative thoughts running through my head, or worries taking over my mind with questions like "does this outfit make me look fat?".

I am fairly simple when it comes to my "looks". I rarely go over-the-top with my outfits, but like to play them up with fun accessories, most always with earrings and a bracelet or two. Over the past few years, my style has slightly changed. Not for the worse of course. I've started a collection of classic pieces and must haves, and items that I've adopted as my go-to's for everyday wearing (like pearl earrings I have in a variety of sizes).

I've come to realize that no matter how amazing an outfit is, it's not what truly matters! If I don't feel like myself wearing something or feel confident in what I have on, then I will never be able to fully look the part! You see, I am more comfortable with who I am today then when I was back in college a few years ago. Sure, I got compliments on what I wore and thought I had good taste in what I picked out. But did I like who I was? Was I comfortable in my own skin? Nope. But things have changed.

Jessica Alba makes it really clear by saying "my theory is that if you can look confident you can pull of anything--even if you have no clue what you're doing". And I couldn't agree more. Be confident in your own skin. Celebrate who you are and what you have to offer. Believe that you are beautiful. And overtime, you'll start to notice that it will come naturally and almost always shine through.
