Wedding Day Morning

Happy Wednesday, friends! We've made it halfway through another week. It's a short one for me and hopefully for most of you being that Independence Day is on Saturday. Our office is closed on Friday so i'm looking forward to sleeping in and doing a little bit of cleaning around our townhouse! Today's post is all about my wedding day morning...what it looked like, what I was feeling and everything in-between.

Saturday morning, my Maid of Honor, Mom, and I woke up fully rested and ready to start the day. We stayed at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Raleigh and it was one of the best decisions I made. Not only was our room extra spacious, but the beds were comfortable and there was complimentary breakfast that I took advantage of  while we stayed at the hotel. The breakfast was actually really good and I got french toast and some fruit the morning of the wedding!! I was also glad to be staying in a hotel where I was surrounded by less distractions and fewer people, able to focus on one of the biggest commitments and decisions I have made thus far in my life...to vow my life and become one to my best friend for all of my days.

After Emily and my Mom helped pack everything up, it was time for us to make our way to The Bridal Suite at The White Room. One thing that I wanted to do was get to The White Room before the rest of my bridal party so that I could have a few moments to myself to pray, enjoy the last few moments of quite time and to prepare myself for a fun-filled day! But I can't wait to tell you ALL about this place after you take a look at some pictures of this space first...all via The White Room's website.
How gorgeous is The White Room y'all? I was able to find this gem with a few Google searches when I was looking for places me and my girls could get ready the day of the wedding. I don't know how I got so lucky! I was looking for a space that felt open, inviting, and would look great in photos. The atmosphere was ultra feminine and even had a dining and lounge area that me and my girls took full advantage of. It was PERFECT and met all of our needs. Oh I forgot to mention that it's an apartment-like space located in Downtown Raleigh literally right above The Flying Saucer.

Slowly, all my girls started to arrive and we literally just hung out with each other all morning and afternoon! We listened to music, flipped through some magazines, took pictures to post on Instagram and Snapchat and had our hair and makeup done by the amazing ladies of Makeup By Ashley Mooney. The day was better then I could have ever imagined.

For all my sweet 'lady readers', I've heard that a lot of brides are stressed out on their wedding day and the 'bridezilla' starts to come out as the day goes on, but to be honest, I was calmer then I ever could have imagined and even had a crazy thought that something must be wrong with me since I had no sign of stress or anxiety running through my veins! I give thanks to God for my emotions that day. I had been praying the weeks leading up to the wedding that God would help me savor and enjoy every single thing that I was to encounter on the wedding day.

If there's one piece of advice I could give to anyone getting ready to get married it would be to remember that whatever happens on your big day, will soon pass. Realize that a lot of the 'bumps in the road' are out of your control and all you can do is enjoy the moments that will in fact, pass by very quickly! For most, this day is a once in a lifetime experience so don't waste the day away worrying about that what if's. Give your emotions over to God and allow yourself to really enjoy the beautiful season of life you are finally getting to experience.
